National Tree Week

Pupils from all classes in Raheen N.S. along with teachers and parents took part in a Fun Walk in Portumna Forest Park for National Tree Week.

The walk was organised in association with Raheen Parents Association and Coillte.

Coillte experts Pat and Declan gave a guided tour in the forest with talks about the history of Portumna Forest Park, habitats in the forest and native tree species. We used our geographical investigation skills and map reading skills Next we visited the Bird Hide for some bird watching, observing and questioning.

Thanks to Pat, Declan and the Parents Association who accompanied us on this very enjoyable and informative morning.
