Working together during school closure 2020 . |

When the school closure came into effect on March 12th, pupils brought home their books, copies, workbooks, and some additional learning packs.
Subsequently, we communicated our intent to provide remote learning. In the first instance we used email as a method of staying in contact with students and parents.
We uploaded explanations and screenshot examples of work. We used tools such as "Vocaroo" to create recordings in Irish and English, and explained to pupils how they could make their own recordings. We used Padlet for posting projects, pictures and pupils oral presentations and to create a virtual class experience.
We referred to our website link pages for games and activities in English, Maths, and SESE. We encouraged pupils to take part in other learning challenges such as the "30 day lego challenge" and daily exercise activities.
Then , we set up the platform "Seesaw" and we posted activities and assigned work using the tools available within the digital platform, such as recording, screencasting , etc . We used Scoilnet and Worldbook Online for reading, general knowledge and SESE.
Worldbook Online provided invaluable tools for" kids" and "students" to reseach topics in SESE and for project work. Worldbook also offered ebooks to facilitate "library " reading. It also offered the read-aloud function which is a brilliant support for all students.
In Geography, it offers an opportunity to research and compare countries. The Interactive Map feature facilitated learning about countries by locating them on a map before providing relevant information. All of these ways help to keep pupils engaged and to keep learning interesting.
To keep connected , teachers and parents used texting, email, and "announcements" in Seesaw.
Well done to our pupils and their parents on all of their hard work during School Closure , 2020.
Together we completed the School Programme for the year 2019/2020.
Comhghairdeas!
Congratulations!
